ACP Nationals 2006

I started my adventure to nationals on Monday November 20, 2006 at 12:30am.  After two quite exhausting flight I arrived in Orlando, Florida at 10:30am to began a fabulous adventure.  I wore a wrinkle-free suit so that the moment I walked off the airplane I was ready to compete.

I competed in the speech competition today and, let me tell you, my competitors were absolutely amazing.  We were all well spoken and articulate, so I can only image how difficult it must have been for the judges to choose the top five out of 14 competitors.  Unfortunately, I was not included in the top five, but I did learn a lot of new techniques to help me become a better public speaker.

We ended the busy day with a gift exchange.  Each young lady brought gifts that represented their state.  Most of the gift bag included state pins.  Now, we all have pins from each state to decorate the back of our state banners.

All of the state queens are wonderful, intelligent, and exciting.  I have made so many new friends.  What can I say?  I guess I am having a blast!

Today was a very exciting day!  We started the day with an hour rehearsal and then it was straight to the dressing room for me to get ready for the Teen Miss Victory evening wear competition.  Then with a quick change, I was back to rehearsal to learn sign language for the song, “My Country ‘Tis of Thee”, for the Thanksgiving dinner production. But, I had to leave early to change into my business suit for the introduction and interview portion.  It was a rush, but I left the interview room feeling very proud of my presentation.  I am very excited to find out who will be crowned tomorrow!
